Reprints selling well; next two on schedule

Overlook Press reports that the reprinting of their first two Freddy books has been successful, with both Freddy Goes To Florida and Freddy the Detective into their second printing. They are very happy with the results so far. Bookstore sales have been good, and the titles are proving popular in direct mail catalogs such as A Common Reader, Bas Bleu, and Edward Hamilton. The books have even been featured by the Conservative Book Club!

Publicity highlights include the Boston Globe article with a focus on FoF former president Aladdine Joroff and the National Public Radio feature, which included an interview with Peter Mayer of Overlook.

The audiocassette versions of Florida and Detective have just come out from Record Books. They are narrated by John McDonough, best known as the actor who now plays Captain Kangaroo.

Freddy and the Ignormus and Freddy and the Flying Saucer Plans will be published in October. Overlook reports that they will be continuing with the series but provided no information on the next two titles.

There will be representatives from Overlook at the Friends convention, probably including Peter Mayer, the owner, and Maureen Nagy, who has been coordinating marketing for the republication. Look forward to seeing you!
